In recent years, the phenomenon of domestic fruits being packaged as imported fruits and sold at high prices has frequently appeared in the market. These "foreign clothes" of fruit, not only expensive, and often through counterfeit imported packaging gift boxes, false publicity and other means to deceive consumers. In response to this phenomenon, the China Consumers Association (China Consumers Association) issued a consumption reminder to remind consumers to learn to distinguish the authenticity through the label when buying imported fruit and avoid falling into the consumption trap.

First, the phenomenon of "westernization" of domestic fruits is frequent

According to the consumption tips released by the Consumer Association, various seasonal fruits have been listed on the market recently, many of which are expensive "imported fruits". However, some of these so-called imported fruits, such as Japan's king grape, Japan Shizuoka mesh melon, the United States lemon, Colombia unicorn fruit, etc., have not actually entered China's inspection and quarantine access list. Some illegal businesses through poor information, counterfeit imported packaging gift boxes and other means, the ordinary domestic fruit packaging into imported fruit, the price of instant increase several times or even nearly ten times.

2. False publicity infringes on consumers' rights and interests

This behavior of deceiving consumers through false publicity not only seriously infringes the legitimate rights and interests of consumers, and is suspected of constituting a crime, but also squeezes the production and sales of regular merchants and disturbs the market price order. When consumers buy these "imported fruits", they are often attracted by their high prices and gorgeous packaging, while ignoring the real situation of the goods themselves. Once the purchase is found to have been cheated, the road to protection is often difficult and time-consuming.

Third, Consumers' Association tips: Identify the authenticity through the label

In order to help consumers avoid falling into the consumption trap, the Consumer Association reminds consumers that when buying imported fruit, they should learn to distinguish the authenticity through the label. First of all, consumers can consult the General Administration of Customs issued by the "access to China's inspection and quarantine of fresh fruit types and export countries and regions List", to understand the current access to China's fruit types and export places. At the time of purchase, if the purchased fruit is found to be inconsistent with the list, it is likely to be a counterfeit imported fruit.

Secondly, when consumers buy imported fruits, they should try to choose reputable and well-earned supermarkets to buy. When purchasing, carefully check the product label, pay attention to whether the origin, brand and other information on the label is consistent with the business promotion. At the same time, keep the consumption voucher, if there is a problem can be timely rights protection.

Fourth, strengthen market supervision and combat counterfeiting

In addition to the self-protection of consumers, the China Consumers Association also called on the relevant departments to strictly check the various entry procedures for imported fruits and increase the daily supervision and management of the fruit market. At the same time, regular fruit businesses are encouraged to increase their efforts to crack down on counterfeit brands, safeguard their legitimate rights and interests, and strengthen the counterfeit detection function of their own logo to help consumers identify the source. The e-commerce platform should also strengthen the review of the qualifications of the sellers of imported fruit, fully check the product information, and ensure that the imported fruit merchants are formal, the source is real, and the sales are legal.
