It's about food safety! Fujian Province announced the scope and specific categories of traceable food producers and traders.

Recently, the Fujian Provincial Government issued the newly revised "Fujian Province Food Safety Information Traceability Management Measures" (hereinafter referred to as the "Measures"), which has been officially implemented on May 1, 2024.

In accordance with the requirements of the Measures, the scope of traceability of food production and business operators in Fujian Province and the specific categories of food and edible agricultural products that implement traceability management of food safety information are announced as follows:

1. Trace the scope of food operators

(1) edible agricultural products production enterprises, farmers' specialized cooperatives, family farms that have registered as market subjects, livestock and poultry slaughterhouses (farms, sites), units or individuals engaged in the purchase of edible agricultural products;

(2) enterprises dealing in raw grain and policy-based grain;

(3) Importers of foodstuffs and edible agricultural products;

(4) food production enterprises;

(5) wholesale sellers of food and edible agricultural products;

(6) medium-sized and above supermarkets, food business enterprises that implement unified distribution mode of operation;

(7) medium-sized and above catering service units, collective dining distribution units, central kitchens, chain catering enterprises, school canteens (including canteens of childcare institutions), canteens of elderly care institutions, and canteens of medical institutions.

2. Specific categories of food and edible agricultural products subject to traceability management of food safety information

Crop products, animal husbandry products, aquatic products, raw grains and policy grains, processed foods.

The contents of this Notice shall come into force on May 1, 2024 and shall be valid for 10 years. On January 29, 2019, the Notice of the Fujian Provincial Market Supervision Administration, the Fujian Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, and the Fujian Provincial Bureau of Marine Affairs and Fisheries on the Release of the "Fujian Provincial Food Safety Information Traceability Category Varieties (2018 version)" was repealed simultaneously.
